What is a retainer?
A retainer is a fund that you authorize your attorney to draw from to pay for legal fees.
Where is the retainer held?
All funds received from the client are kept in the Law Firm’s IOLTA Trust Account, in accordance with law, until earned by the Firm.
How much is the usual retainer?
Generally, when we meet with a client to discuss his/her case, we estimate the time that will be spent of the initial pleadings to be drafted and/or the preparation needed for the first court appearance(s). We calculate those fees and then request that the client pay them up front. That down payment is the “retainer” which the Law Firm will draw upon to pay the attorney(s) working on the case. Therefore, we require different retainers for different types of cases.
Can I pay with a credit or debit card?
Yes, we accept all major credit cards, as well as PayPal account transfers. You may pay with Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express.
